With over 10 years of marketing experience in Hamilton, Lisa is driven by understanding the WHY. Why an organisation exists, and why a customer engages with them. With experience in marketing and communication roles, she has the skills to create and deliver marketing strategies, as well as work in detail to execute them.
While she started her journey nearer the Bombay’s, she gravitated into the region for university, before settling in a number of client-side roles across some of the Waikato’s most well-known organisations. Now she’s peered over the fence and jumped over to the agency side to bring those experiences to HGB.
In her spare time, you’ll find her on a long morning walk in her “happy place” on a Whangamata beach regardless of the weather. And, as a gin aficionado, enjoying a cool glass in the evening while the sun goes down over a friendly board game.
Tea is her beverage of choice in the office, enjoying copious amounts daily, and is another member of the HGB team partial to a scoop (or more) of Duck Island Ice Cream.
How did you come to join the HGB team? The lovely Anna introduced me…and here I am. After a marketing career client side, it was time to jump the fence.
You’ve got a lot of skills, what is something not many people know about you? I crochet. But not the crochet squares and tea cosy’s of the 70’s. This is the new age of crochet, cool beanies, oversized scarfs and throws…but maybe the odd doily.
Fast forward a year, what might you be known for in the office by 2022? How many cups of tea I can consume in a day!
Let’s go back a few years… what was your favourite subject at school? History. I love understanding where the world has been. I also had a penchant for debating with the teachers – there is after all two sides to every story.
What is one thing you couldn’t live without? Snack, drink or other… How to choose?! But I’ll go with coffee, or gin – yes gin (It would be difficult to achieve my goal of becoming a connoisseur otherwise).
You’re going on a teddy bears picnic, where are you going to? Whangamata beach – it’s my happy place, my soul mate 😊
What’s one achievement you couldn’t be prouder of? Sorry, it’s technically two achievements – my two sons (if I choose one, I’d be accused of favouritism and the verdict's still out).
Would you rather: be attacked by a grizzly bear, or a shark – explain why? I think I’m a goner either way. Let’s go with grizzly bear…I would come off second best (I’m not a runner or a climber) but I’m a tad terrified of sharks – despite my love of the beach.
If you were a wizard, what would your patronus be? Dog – fiercely loyal.
Last but not least, if you could choose one ice cream flavour to eat for the rest of your life what would it be? Great question – Duck Island’s Peanut Butter Caramel Cookie – nom nom.
